Restaurant Recommendations and Information

In case you are new in town, there are a few excellent eating experiences that we would hate to see you miss.

Manco & Manco Pizza (formerly Mack & Manco): A shore tradition. People line up to get a taste of these crispy, unique pies. They have an interesting way of blending the sauce and cheese, and they are always right out of the oven, so you’re never left waiting long. Locations: Boardwalk & 8th, 9th and 12th streets.

Johnson’s Popcorn: The best caramel corn you’ll ever eat! Often still warm and soft…and always fresh. A little hint: If you buy a tub of popcorn, you can refill it anytime during your stay, and only have to pay for the popcorn. Locations: Boardwalk & 6th, 8th, and 14th streets.

Kohr Bros. Frozen Custard: The original frozen custard. Chocolate, Vanilla, Mint, Orange, Peanut Butter. No need for tons of flavors when the originals are so good. Add jimmies and you’ll be in heaven. Locations: Boardwalk & 7th, 10th, 12th streets, Wonderland Pier, and Moorlyn Terrace.

Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy: Since 1898, some of the best Salt Water Taffy around. And with dozens of flavors to choose from, there’s something for everyone. In addition, you can often watch taffy being made through the large glass window in the back. Location: 9th & Boardwalk

George’s Candies: Not sure we’ve ever had a better Macaroon! We’ve also heard the ice cream and fudge are terrific. Location: 7th & Boardwalk

Off the Boardwalk:

Rojo’s Tacos: Don Jose’s Authentic Mexican. If you’re in the mood for picking up and eating in, you can’t go wrong with the delicious choices from Rojo’s. Eat inside or on the porch of the Beach House for a fun evening! Closed Sundays. Location: 601 Ocean Avenue, Ocean City

Ma France Creperie: Sweet and savory crepes in a charming environment. Also serves handmade quiches, soups, salads and more! Highly recommended, but keep in mind that crepes take time to create, so consider this an experience (not just a quick meal). Location: 506 East 9th Street, Ocean City

In Town: (We would highly recommend taking a stroll through town if time allows. You will find adorable shops, fine clothing boutiques, and plenty of great restaurants. Mainly located between 6th-9th Streets on Asbury Avenue.)

Wards Pastry: Home of the Fried Sticky Bun… not to mention famous butter cookies, donuts, pies, filled pastries, and breads. We would recommend the Snowflake Buns. Grab a little deli meat and cheese, and these buns are the perfect compliment for a day on the beach. Location: 730 Asbury Avenue, Ocean City

Sack O’Subs: Wonderful subs with plenty of options. Believe us when we tell you a “half” sub is really as large as we know a “whole” sub to be! Eat in or take out. Location: 926 Asbury Avenue, Ocean City

At Johnson’s, ask for the” lid off” and they will put the container in a bag for you with lots more popcorn to eat.
